NEET 2020 Registration, Exam & Result Dates Announced by NTA

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an entrance examination conducted in India for students planning to pursue medicine and dentistry. Succeeded from All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), NEET has replaced all other individual MBBS exams held in different states and colleges.

If you are planning to write this exam next year, you must learn about the eligibility criteria, exam pattern, course structure as well as the syllabus for the NEET exam. The NEET 2020 syllabus includes three sections- Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Physics– Focuses on topics like kinematics, rotational movement and gravitation. It also includes questions about alternating current, modern physics, electricity and magnetism, optics, semiconductors and so on.

Chemistry– Focuses on basic components, states of matter and classification of elements and periodicity in properties. NEET also quizzes students on topics like atoms and chemical bonds and substances, intermolecular forces, etc.

Biology– Focuses on topics like the cell structure and its function, structural organization of plants and animals and diversity in the living world. Other questions such as reproduction, human and plant physiology, genetics and evolution are also included.

Important updates

The NEET 2020 exam date is scheduled to be held on May 03, 2020. You can check your results on the 4th of June, subsequently. This is the second time the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the NEET.

Method– Pen-and-paper mode of examination.

Eligibility– Candidates who have passed their 12th grade can appear for the NEET UG 2020 exam.

Application process– The process will take place from the 2nd of December to the 31st of December, 2019.

Admit card– Applicants can download the NEET admit card from March 27th, 2020 onwards.

Course timing and structure– NEET includes three sections- physics, chemistry and biology. There will be a total of 180 questions- 45 from physics and chemistry, each, and 90 from biology. Candidates will be given three hours to complete the test.

 Prep syllabus– The syllabus of class 11th and 12th. (NCERT textbooks in the respective subjects)

Correction method– For every correct answer you will get four marks and every incorrect answer will result in negative marking. Questions not attempted do not have any penalty marks.
