NEET Postponed Amid Coronavirus Lockdown

National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Under Graduate (NEET-UG). The exam will now take place in the last week of May or the first week of June. The date to issue the admit card for the same will happen after 15th April 2020.

NEET UG was scheduled on 3rd May 2020 and the admit card for the same was due to be issued by Friday. However, due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country, which has brought the entire nation, in fact, the entire world, to a standstill has forced the government to go for a complete lockdown. This has resulted in the postponement of all the exams and other educational activities.

While this news has caused some anxiety and panic among 15 lakh NEET aspirants, the step was necessary to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Besides NEET, JEE along with other board exams has also been postponed. This happened after the ministry of Human Resource Development urged all the states and autonomous bodies to work on rescheduling the dates of all the upcoming exams.
