BITSAT Overview

The BITSAT examination is conducted by Birla Institute of Science and Technology. The BITSAT is name of Admission Test. BITSAT examination is a 3 hours comprehensive test which evaluates the knowledge of candidate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. This examination is conducted for admissions in undergraduate Engineering courses in Birla Institute of Technology. Nearly 3 lakh students appear in this exam which take its intake for campuses in Pilani, Ranchi, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai.

Eligibility Criteria for BITSAT 2021

The students should check their eligibility for the program before they sit for the entrance exam.

Basic Qualification Should have passed class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized state or central board of education
Year of Passing Should have passed class 12 or equivalent examination in 2020 or 2021
Compulsory Subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
Additional Requirement Adequate proficiency in English
Aggregate Marks Minimum 75% in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 60% marks in each of the subjects
BITS Campus Students Candidates already studying at any on the BITS campuses are not eligible to appear for BITSAT 2021

Apart from this, the BITSAT examination panel has kept a separate provision for the Class 12th Board Toppers across all State, Central and UGC recognised Boards in India. The toppers have been exempted only from BITSAT 2021 examination but other eligibility criteria remain the same.

BITSAT 2021 Examination Centres

BITS Pilani, the governing body which conducts the BITSAT examination has released the centres across different cities where the examination would be conducted for BITSAT 2021. The candidates can book their slots for the same and would appear in their admit cards as well. The candidate can book their slots for the Examination centre on a First Come and First Serve Basis.

BITSAT 2021 Examination Syllabus

The BITSAT 2021 syllabus consists of all important topics of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Apart from that students would also be tested on English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning which would consist of basic questions testing the Communication Skills and Intellectual Quotient of the student.

BITSAT 2021 Results

The results for BITSAT 2021 would be announced on the official website of BITS.

The result is declared in two steps, namely:

  1. First the scores obtained by the candidates are declared.
  2. Next step involves the declaration of the Admission List and Waitlist based on the scores obtained by the candidates.

Cutoff for BITSAT 2021

The Cutoff marks are released by the BITSAT Governing body which is the minimum marks the students sitting in the examination must score for them to be considered eligible for admission in the participating institutes of the BITSAT 2021 examination.

The Cutoff marks are calculated based on the previous year’s cutoff, the difficulty level of the current year’s examination, the number of candidates registered and the number of seats being up for grabs, and so on. Though it should be noted that the students who get marks higher marks, would have a better chance of getting admission through BITSAT 2021.

BITSAT 2021 Seat Allotment

For students seeking admission under BITSAT 2021, they should have a valid BITSAT score. Once the BITSAT governing body opens the online registration process for counselling, the students would be required to fill in the details of the course and campus of their choice. The students would need to wait for the final confirmation as there are 6 rounds of counselling rounds that are conducted and only after that the final list is created.

The admissions under BITSAT 2021 would be offered at the 4 campuses for the courses mentioned below. The student should select the course and campuses accordingly. Students should note that BITSAT participating Institutes offer Bachelor of Engineering Courses (BE) and not Bachelor of Technology courses (B.Tech).
